Bong, as he is called by his friends is originally from Cagayan de Oro but is currently based in Cebu City. As a photojournalist (of 15 years) and the Chief Photographer in one of oldest newspaper in the country, The Freeman, he directs photo assignments and chooses which photos are published in the daily news publication.

He also collaborates with the Department of Tourism for photo shoots of major tourist sites for promotion to international media. His work in Region 13- CARAGA last year captured the spectacular beauty of the area. His current assignment with the Department of Tourism – Region 7 is to primarily showcase the various tourist destinations in Central Visayas and these include promotional videos for the provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.

Venues that display his images include the Cebu international Convention Center, Cebu South Bus Terminal and the Sampaguita Suites in Cebu. The travel photos Bong made while in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam are available for sale online. His photo documentaries are published on indemotix.com, an award-winning European news agency of photos and videos that are contributed by freelance photographers from all over the world

In 2010, Bong won the best election photo from the Philippine Press Institute and was awarded 1st– place under the environment category by the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham).

He has pursued to go beyond his above-water photo achievements and has taken to underwater video and photography. Bong then became an advanced diver under the certification program of the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS).

His introduction to the late Doc Amores and the subsequent cave diving mentoring enabled him to gain access to the hidden depths and chambers in the Pawod Cave of Mactan. Such a challenging area for video and still photography gave Bong a real test which he whole-heartedly and successfully met head on.

At present, Bong has his own business called the Liquid Pixel which is the photography and video production of landscapes, underwater or both.
