As planned, FCD (Filipino Cave Divers) went to Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur for Expedition VI on November 10. The team was composed of Jake Miranda, Lyndon Cubilan, Larry Williams, Andy Berame, Clint Sia and Doc Amores. On tap for the trip were:
- Video documentation of HERUC (Hinatuan’s Enchanted River Underwater Cave) with advanced camera and lighting
- Exploration of the Dugong site near Pagasinan Island just off the mouth of Enchanted River
- Exploration of macro photography sites in the adjoining estuaries of Tinago River and Enchanted River
We will get to #1 later, but #’s 2 and 3 were scrapped because of approaching typhoon Zoraida which tracked towards Hinatuan, putting the area under signal #2 as we finished the video dive at HERUC. The team beat a hasty retreat to Barobo to shelter from the storm.
Video documentation from descent to the very end of Mayor’s Chamber was a big success…a video production of FCD Lyndon Cubilan documenting the dive team of FCD Docboy and FCD Andy pushing to the entrance of Paul’s Passage.
